DESCRIPTION:Workshop given by Marilyn Magnuson of Holmen \nSponsored by Gift of Grace Lutheran Church LCMS and hosted by Coulee Life Church \nThis is a free event\, but we are asking for donations to benefit the Holmen’s Hope Summer Lunch Program. \nPlease email Marilyn at giftofgracelc@gmail.com to reserve your spot! \n  \nLearn the Design Process \n\nSite Analysis and context of your site\nPositive and Negative Spaces – Defining garden beds and rooms\nArchitecture of your home and impact of your design process\nPublic and private settings of your home (Front yard/Back yard)\nGarden Rooms – Define\, Function\, Enjoy\nGood Design = Easier Maintenance\nMeasuring and Drawing your dream\n\nMarilyn’s Background \n\nBachelor and Masters Degrees in Landscape Architecture ISU College of Design\nMasters Degree in Community and Regional Planning ISU College of Design\nTaught classes in Garden Design and Garden Construction – Horticulture Department at Iowa State University\nWrote the Residential Design component for the Iowa Master Gardener’s workbook\nEnjoyed working 20+ years with clients in designing and developing projects for public and private use\n\nMarilyn and her husband\, Jim\, are now retied and living in Holmen. Marilyn enjoys sharing her design knowledge and expertise with homeowners\, teaching them to enhance their property\, maximize the use of their space and minimize maintenance. \n  \nBring a good pencil\, eraser\, a scale or 12 inch ruler and some paper (graph paper if you have some) to participate in some design exercises. If you want to draw your landscape to scale and bring your drawing we can work on it together!
